To provide a structured, positive and disciplined environment where the swimmers are given the best opportunity to achieve their goals. The senior squad provides a pathway for younger squad members to progress to State and National Championships.
Rocky City Swimming Club was formed in 1990 to provide a group of swimmers with the opportunity to train, compete, and develop the technical skills of the sport of swimming. The club currently trains at the 2nd World War Memorial Aquatic Centre (South Side Pool). Over its existence, Rocky City Swimming has produced many swimmers who have qualified for regional, state and national teams.
The club has activities for everyone, whether they want to swim for fun, fitness, or swim at the most competitive level. The skills of the Rocky City Coaching Team include coaching and teaching swimmers with a disability, coaching open water swimmers, coaching triathletes, and junior development. Our learn to swim partner, Splash-A-Bout Swim School, provides a pathway for learn-to-swim students to enter Rocky City Swimming, and use the skills they learn at swimming lessons.
One of Rocky City's main goals is to be able to identify talent in any swimmer. This talent is then developed and nurtured to make the swimmer as capable as possible.
At Rocky City, we provide a space for swimmers to compete, which can range from our own local competitions to giving the swimmers the ability to access other clubs carnivals.
At Rocky City, one of our main focuses is to promote good sportsmanship and team spirit. This is to promote a supportive and friendly environment to train and compete in.
